BUTTONS AND RESULTS GUIDE

A clear button beats a conversion promise

A CTA, or call to action, tells someone what happens after clicking. “View my portfolio”, “Menu and prices” and “Request a quote” help people choose. “Learn more” can be too vague when every button uses the same wording.

01

Choose one primary next step

Start with what the visitor needs and put the matching destination near the top. There is no order everyone prefers: someone looking for a menu has a different question from someone reviewing a portfolio.

Specific label

“Book a visit” describes the destination more clearly than “Let’s begin”.

Matching destination

A “Prices” button should open prices, not another page where visitors must search.

Fewer competing choices

Remove duplicate and expired links before adding more options.

02

Visits, unique visitors and clicks differ

A visit is an access under a tool’s definition. A unique visitor is a deduplicated estimate, not necessarily a person. A click is an interaction. HTTP requests also include assets, bots and scanners: they are not a useful conversion denominator.

03

A worked CTR and conversion example

With 100 page views and 20 recorded clicks, the click-to-view ratio is 20%. That does not necessarily mean 20 people: one person can click repeatedly. If your form receives 3 enquiries attributable to those views, the enquiry-to-view ratio is 3%. Always define the event, period and denominator; do not mix incompatible metrics from different tools.

04

Measure without building another system

UTMs are link parameters such as utm_source and utm_campaign. A destination’s analytics tool can use them to recognise a campaign when configured to do so. Never put email addresses or other personal data in them. On Omy.bio you can order your links and connect an existing form or calendar; this guide does not imply an editor dashboard for visitor or click counts. Change one thing at a time and compare similar periods, remembering that small samples do not establish cause.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good conversion rate?

There is no universal threshold. Audience, source, goal and conversion definition all matter. Compare like-for-like data from your own activity.

Do UTMs measure sales on their own?

No. They are labels in a link. The destination must read them and associate them with a measured event; without that setup they do not prove a sale.
